My good friend Paula Ireland is pulling a Truck for the BLESMA Charity. She has asked me to help her raise funds for this great cause.

She is raising money (again!) for BLESMA (British Limbless ex Service Men’s Association) as many of you know it is the charity that directly supports all our service men and women who lose limbs, the use of limbs or eyes or the sight of an eye in the service of our country and BLESMA are with them all whenever BLESMA are needed for the rest of their lives. BLESMAs work starts with rehabilitation – proving that there is life after amputation. BLESMAs work is about amputee helping amputee – the fellowship of shared experience. BLESMAs work is about life long welfare support, about campaigning for what they deserve and about being there when old injuries come back to haunt. The youngest Member is 19 and our oldest is 99 – Truly we are BLESMA for Life. She will be pulling a truck and is aiming to pull a minimum of 10tons; this has taken a lot of preparation and training. She has even had to put on weight! Hopefully all being well she will be doing the event on 17th October in Colchester. She would really like to raise as much money as possible for BLESMA, however we realise lots of people support other charities – but if you need an excuse to donate to any charity we would be grateful if you would use this event as that excuse.
